Maybe like me you have underwent times of rejection, frustration and loneliness.
I can’t tell you how many times I have been rejected in some form or another.
Yet we know that our rejection by men does not constitute our rejection by God. I believe that rejection or a closed door in one area of life is because a better door is just ahead. We might not see it now, but trust God: He knows what He’s doing!
However, there is no doubt that the way we respond to rejection matters.
The well-known author, Max Lucado was rejected 14 times by publishers on his first book before receiving an acceptance letter.
The sixth president, Abraham Lincoln was defeated or out-voted for seven political positions (not including job & personal losses) before being elected President in 1860.
Rosa Parks, after repeatedly succumbing to mistreatment and discrimination, one day took a stand against injustice and the fame of this event spread to the point of initiating movements in Alabama and leading toward nationwide promotion of blacks.
The more contemporary, Dr. Samantha Phillips is an author, speaker and co-pastor of Kingdom Life International Center a thriving ministry in Orlando Florida, but she says that she is a far way from where she was. She had to overcome “cycles of abuse and self-destructive behavior to living a life full of love and success!”
So many men and women alike have faced rejection, failures, self-destructive behavior and even abuse- I will go into this next time. And to go on despite the odds and conqueror obstacles, regain hope and the confidence that God intended for you to have. To declare victory over your life!
We know that God will never leave you nor forsake you. – Hebrews 13:5
We know “we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37
And we know that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” -Phillippians 4:13
Regardless of how many times you’ve been rejected, turned down or discouraged by people, know that God is with you and as you trust Him will set up your way for Success!
Keep persevering, enduring and hanging in there. Send that application out again, write that board, that representative, that publisher again. Don’t loose momentum, don’t loose hope. Watch the Lord open doors no man can shut and lead you directly to the place where only He can get the glory!!
PRAISE BE TO OUR GOD!!
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt,
O virgin of Israel!
You shall again be adorned with your tambourines,
And shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.
– Jeremiah 31:3-4
