Follow Your Dreams…..

I was at a Women of Faith Conference last year, and thoroughly enjoyed myself.  The theme of the conference was BELIEVE.

Simply: Believe.

And when I think of the word “believe”, a flood of thoughts come pouring through my mind.  You often hear motivational-speakers or motivational coaches say:  Believe in the impossible,

Believe you have it in you!

Believe and you will achieve!

Believe to reach that goal, dream, ambition or position in life.

And while these self-motivating phrases may be good and even noteworthy; WITHOUT Christ as the center of your dreams, goals or ambitions- what profit is it!!

Mark 8:36 reads

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Matthew 16:26,   “…Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Nothing.

And when we look around we see very many successful and famous people of the world, but so many giants and leaders for Christ!

And I believe Jesus wants us to dream and go far in reaching great heights for Him.  And I believe He wants us to do it as unto Him.

Are you dreaming? Good.

But who is at the center of your dreams?

Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:9 and Romans 10:9

Fighting the Good Fight

We, who are called Women of God, Women of Christ and Character are in a battle that involves fighting.  It is an assignment we have to complete. It is an ongoing war that rages!

As long as we live, get up, breathe – we will be fighting this war.

But I have good news!!!

The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”  – Exodus 14:14   You are not in this alone.  You will overcome.

Just hold your peace, and God will fight the battle for you.

Don’t fret about:

That colleague, that lies and just won’t let you rest.

Don’t fret about that person that hates you just because your a Christian.

Don’t fret about, that driver that ragingly cut you off in the street.

As you work more for God, sometimes it appears as though more things are going wrong.

My husband shared this: “ Sometime the devil, i.e. Satan, sees more in us, than we do in ourselves.”  So He attacks, fights, delivers the biggest blows that he can to hinder us in our walk with God.

Can we actually sit back and believe all of the lies the Devil send our way.

NO! He is a liar and the Father of lies!

He sends lies that we aren’t worthwhile

That nobody truly loves and cares for us.

We won’t amount to anything in life.

Liar, Liar, Liar!

We WILL live and prosper!

We Will run and overcome!

We Will be VICTORIOUS!

We are beautiful and valuable in the sight of God!

And WE WILL WIN!

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life [THROUGH CHRIST JESUS],  to which you were also called and

have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.  – 1 Timothy 6:12

Father,

We confess right now and believe that in 2014,

we will overcome and succeed in every area of our lives.

We confess that we are believers saved by the price Christ

paid on the Cross, and that as a result, we will be victorious

in every area of our lives!

In Jesus’ name.

AMAZING GRACE!

I can hear the singer Chris Tomlin now sing the words:

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see.

Wow.

Ephesians 2:4, 7-8 says,

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us….That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding RICHES OF HIS GRACE in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God….”

OUT OF ALL the things people have given me and the awards people have presented to me. Or anything could EVER receive: the Grace of God surpasses them all!  We can see here that God is rich in three areas:  God is rich in Mercy.  God is rich in Love.  AND God is rich in Grace.

Money, Fame, THAT position on the job, cars, houses in Beverley Hills, and a yacht just won’t satisfy the longing in each person’s heart!

Don’t give me a Car!  Give me a Savior.

Don’t give me gold and expensive jewelry! Give me a Protector!

Don’t give me fame and all the publicity this world has to offer!  GIVE ME A REDEEMER!

— Do not give me things that take up a lot of space in my house, but doesn’t give an inch of satisfaction in my soul! —

The point is I was a Wretch. Sinner. Undone. Quite proud and Very selfish.  Thinking I was righteous on MY OWN acts and account.  But far from redeemed until I heard the good news: Jesus died, that I might live! Jesus took on my sin with his death, and because he arose from the dead, I too will live forever with him and all I must do is BELIEVE on him.

May be you were born Saved! Holy and literally an angel delivered from heaven.  BUT I WAS NOT!

I needed a Savior, I needed GRACE.  Amazing grace from God, to redeem my soul from Hell!

And to think that while I was still in sin, Jesus died for me! What a gift of GRACE!

—-Blessings.
